I have just started selling items on ebay for a local youth organisation, I contact the buyer as soon as payment is recieved to confirm that I have recieved payment, I then send another email when its posted and then follow up a couple of days later to check that they have recieved the item and that they are happy with it. Anyway I recently sold a gift card for a reduced buy it now price including free first class postage. After the buyer had purchased I thought it probably best that I sent it recorded instead with it being a gift card, so paid the extra for this with my own money. This was on Wednesday. The buyer has recieved the item as I have checked the reciept, however they have just left negative feedback saying not good service and misleading and then they have also filed a claim with paypal saying that they havent recieved the item? I dont know what to do. I have read ebays feedback abuse policy and this circumstance doesnt seem to qualify even though the buyer has had the item and I provided excellent fast next day service. This has really upset me and now my feedback score has gone down to 96.3%. The buyer hasnt even contacted me once, so I dont even know what the problem is. Paypal have placed a hold on the funds too after hes said its not been recieved even though I know they have. What do I do?

Send PayPal the Recorded Delivery number, this proves that it was posted, and more importantly, that it was received. We have removed your signature - please contact the forum team if you are not sure why - Forum Team0

The feedback can be withdrawn through various methods. I would advise getting the Paypal thing sorted, and get something done through ebay whilst that is being done. The following page should be helpful:

I don't think it's easy to get feedback removed, but it's your follow up to the feedback that is important.
Just reply to his feedback with something like "gift voucher arrived within 2 days yet buyer tried to claim refund. scammer & reported".Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')
No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)0 -
I appreciate your upsetting circumstances and my best advice would be to add a large, brightly coloured message at the end of your future listings explaining why you have bad feedback. Alternatively, seeing as one bad feedback has knocked 4% off your score, it shows you can't of sold alot of goods. You could start fresh with a new account and work your way up again. Good luck anyway! The quickest way to become a millionaire is start off as a billionaire and go into the airline business.

Don't worry too much about the negative: feedback percentages are now based on the previous 12 months only, so the damage is not permanent.
I would send the customer a message via eBay asking exactly what their problem with the item was. It seems they've already contradicted themselves somewhat by claiming both that they were somehow misled and that the item did not arrive, so if you give them a spade they might dig themselves deeper.0 -

I would not draw attention to a neg in big bold colours, personally I would respond to it and then forget it.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards.
