in Credit cards
Hi there new to this forum need some help from you experts out there -
I currently have 2 Credit Cards an Egg card and a Bank Of Scotland One Card
These are both maxed out £700 on the Egg card and £1200 on the One Card, for the past year ive just been paying the minimum amout off each month as ive been a student for the past 5 years but now i have just got myself a full time job i can afford to pay off £200 a month to each card, question is will this significantly improve my credit rating or does this take years to mend? I have yet to get a credit report as im afraid of the results to be honest!!
I am looking to get these paid off as quickly as possible then cancel them.
Sorry for the million and one questions at once but im sure someone out there will have a simple answer to this.
Cheers.

Why does your credit rating need mending? Have you a history of missed/late payments?
Rather than paying £200 off each card, you should 'snowball', ie continue to make the minimum payment on each, but then throw all you can at the card with the highest APR.0 -
Ive had a few late payments along the way when i was a student trying to pay them off, looking back i should have been more sensible and took a student loan instead, The One card is something stupid like 32% APR so maybe i should look at paying this off first, thanks for the advice0
