BARCLAYCARD grievance!!!!

Need some advice please. I booked a hotel in the centre of Latvia with my Barclaycard, 4 rooms for 8 people, months before we flew out there. Great location, near bars and restaurants. Had confirmations regarding booking etc from the travel company (https://www.yeego.com) via email. On the day we checked into the hotel I was given a printout of an email the hotel had recieved from the travel agent saying we have had to cancel your booking and have moved you to another hotel. Sorry for the inconvenience and we'll pay for the taxi to take you there!! The new hotel was about 2 miles away from the centre. In total we spent about £100 in additional taxi costs and wasted time getting to the centre over 3 days.

Should Barclaycard take this up as a dispute with the travel agent?

I've tried to claim compensation back from Barclaycard but they have said they cannot do anything. My argument is we wanted and booked a central hotel and we should have been given the option to cancel or choose another closer hotel.

    Was the Holiday affiliated in any way with your Barclaycard?

    Was the company recommended by Barclaycard?

    Why should Barclaycard do anything? Did they pay for your holiday? How did you book your holiday?

    I can hardly see that it is Barclaycards fault, just because you used it to pay for your holiday doesnt mean to say that they should compensate you because you were moved hotels.

    You should take the grievance up with the travel agent and not the hotel.

    No but I used my card to pay for the hotel and didn't get what I purchased? I think this has something to do with not getting the goods I thought I was purchasing and the description not matching the product? long shot.

    Yeah extreme longshot and I agree with Barclaycard in that there is nowt they can do! Take it up with the travel agent!
