Just had my weekly e-mail of stuff for sale on ebay offering local pickup.
IMHO, it looks like distress sales are starting; a high-end hi-fi, a small yacht, fancy digital camera.
Looks like peeps are selling off stuff in the hope of keeping the bailiff away and selling it for them.

Yes I guess a bit of cash raising as well as getting rid of unwanted Christmas presents is the order of the day.0

We've recently been to a large independant jeweller to order our wedding rings (getting married in April). They seem to have loads of Omegas and Rolexes in the pre owned section at present. When we went in october to order the rings thay probably had about 8 of each. Last week there were about two dozen rolexes and a fair few other high end watches in the pre owned section! looks like people are beginning to struggle for cash if you ask me, I should know because I'm one of them!"Life is a sexually transmitted disease....... with a 100% mortality rate"0

I'd never buy a Rolex for £200+ when I can get a Rolix for £5. Mine works just as well
I am a Mortgage Consultant and don't like to be told what I can and can't put in a signature so long as it's legal and truthful.0 -
I tried to sell some old furniture to be told by the dealer that there was no demand - people setting up house, instead of getting junk furniture like we did back in the 80s setting up with next to no money, now expect their house to look like something from a magazine and won't buy anything more than 10 years old0

Are you sure? Vintage furniture is very popular on Ebay, especially 60's/70's. Maybe there wasn't the margin for a dealer to make something out of it. Put your furniture on Ebay and let the market decide what it's worth.0

Agree, Ive some immacualte 70s g plan and its fantastic. Everyone oohs at it, v stylish, but solid quality furniture, much better than anything Ive bought from Ikea. I had 2 immaculate wardrobes & the dressing table, £21 for the lot.
IMO these things have always happened -Ive bought & sold furniture, watches, clothing on ebay whether I need the money or not. omeone I know who sells houseclearance type furniture on ebay is finding that the markets quite good- for the cheap stuff ( eg desks for a tenner) as people see this as a lot cheaper than going to argos/ikea/habitat. Students and renters will always need new stuff.- whether its 2nd hand or not.
Im about to start selling some stuff on ebay again as Ive just accumulated stuff I wont wear ( office clothes with the tags on) and a couple of impulse buys pair of shoes Ill never wear. Its not cos I need the money, more I need the space. Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast :beer:0 -
