Hello all
Well.....I managed it - oh alright i did only iron a huge quilt cover and a pair of curtains but I did re-hang the curtains so we curtains in the lounge for the first time since October!
I have also spent 15 mins in kitchen washing up - DS has just done the drying up - also decided to tackle the oven door for 5 mns every time I was up as it is too gross to face all of it. Have just done the first 5 mins.
Just going to have a cupper then its time to face the BEDROOMS - all gross.
Oh nearly forgot also ordered repeat prescription and will be emailing boss with results of GP visit.
See you later

I was chatting with my father once about how Izzy our youngest enjoys Mum's & tots so much..to which he replied..
'don't suppose she notices much difference just a change of room'...
Mind you it is getting much better now thanks 99.999% to this thread..
now a good tidy up takes 1/2 a day to do the whole house rather than 4 hours in one room at a time...thanks PIG PEN:DTHE SHABBY SHABBY FOUNDER0 -

Just spoken to OH. He said it looks like a breach in your damp proof, BUT:
Is there another grate that is not in the picture along the outside wall? There should be another 'closer to the camera' iykwim. If you can't see it, tap along the smooth part of the wall and if any part feels ridged or 'different' (you'll know what I mean if you feel it apparently - even if it's been taken out and bricked up).
He also suggested lifting a floor board and looking to see what is going on underneath, it may become obvious then. Also check the silicone along the edges of the window (as pigpen suggested). It could be a tiny tiny crack sucking the water in.
Based purely on pictures, obviously, he seems pretty convinced it's your damp proof. Was it injected? There was a reason for asking this, but he's just walked out the door so I shall call him in a bit and find out.
Worst case (sorry) he's talking about the water table and possibly the start of subsidence, but he really doesn't seem to think it is, it's just total worst case scenario, him being the Angel of Doom if you like.
His first piece of advice is to ring your insurance company. They'll send someone out to assess it. He did say he wished he could be more helpful but it's hard to diagnose based purely on pictures. If you get an answer from your insurance company as to what it is, he can advise further.

One load of washing done.
Peeled potatoes and washed up.
Painted other side of shelf and first side of last shelf.
Took dog out.
Cleaned bathroom and toilet including washing floors.
Vacuumed right through downstairs.
Watched a programme I taped last night.
Did some emulsioning on small bedroom walls. Will need about three coats of white to kill the colour before we start decorating properly, so every little helps.
Hope everyone is OK. How is your cat today Mudbath? (Haven't read anything yet).
Happy Birthday Miss A:bdaycake:

Okay...................
Have walked the dog who discovered a supply of french bread that some kind person had left for the sea gulls. At first I thought it was a single sandwich but being a labrador she'd devoured at least one french stick before I could stop her ... so that's her diet out of the window this week.
Bought 2 pairs of lined curtains which I'm leaving for the other half to put up
Sorted washing out..... just a mountain of ironing left but have bought more hangers to help sort that problem.
Have started on the paintwork in my bedroom. All progress a bit slow as my lungs feel like crisp packets filled with cotton wool.

Did some filing in the quest to declutter living room - tried to put my bank statement in my folder but it wouldn't fit, so have taken out all of 2005's statements and shredded them.
Just going to get the laundry out of the TD and put the next lot in, then put a new load in the washing machine. Then, I think I'll find some clothes (still in dressing gown) then head off to aqua class at the gym, then I can use their shower etc to wash my hair after.
See you all later,
