Anyone give advise on ISLE OF WIGHT holiday break?

I used Red Funnel when I last went to Isle of Wight, but luckily they didn't crash into the dock

If you're staying in Yarmouth then go from there to the Needles by open-top bus rather then driving so you can see the views.

If you venture to the east end of the island then St Helens has a nice harbour and beach with the Baywatch cafe by the beach.

Sadly I've tried several times to contact The Belmore with no success - I've emailed them a couple of times and their phone just goes through to an answer machine. Has anyone stayed here recently?

Last year we went to see Paul Weller at Osbourne House and there is a lovely little hotel right there in the grounds of Osbourne House (Albert Cottage Hotel), we wished we had booked up to stay there. There's not a lot going on in East Cowes but it's quite a nice base to explore from and really quite close to Fishbourne where the Wightlink car ferry sails to.
