957 units / £400 - Gas for 6 month is this average..?
I've been with british gas for about 12 month, and my gas bills seem to be very high.
Our latest bill (estimated) is £306 for 81 days.
2 of us live in a small victorian terrace, with the heating via combi boiler on a timer - 2 hours in the morning and 4 in the evening, maybe add a few extra at the weekend. We also have a shower, gas fire on about 2 hours in the evening in cold spells, and a gas hob.
I have a true 6 month reading taking myself -
10th July 3343 - 10th Jan 4300 - 957 m units
I've had 2 bills - 10th July - 3 Oct , 179units (estimate) £92
4th Oct - 23rd Dec 683units (estimate) £306,
the estimate was 4205 for 23 Dec and the actual was 4300 on 10th Jan.
I'd really appreciate any feedback on this, Thanks in advance.

Sounds below average (for your usage above) considering the temperature the past few weeks.0

Don't forget, if you are also paying quarterly, you can save a reasonable amount by changing to a dual fuel online monthly direct debit. (If you have the money spare and don't need the flexibility of quarterly payments.)0

Sounds about right unfortunately. It is v.expensive and i'm not sure how some people cope.
We have actual readings every time and our last quarter bill which has been from the 10th October until now has just come in at £226 and 546 units of gas.
I think we have done OK considering it has been freezing this winter and we have had our heating on 18dC 24hr/7days a week in a 4 bed detached.0 -
The average consumption in UK is 20,500kWh pa.
Your consumption for 6 months is approx 50% of that(10,700kWh)
If your house is Victorian, I assume it has no cavity walls to insulate?
Less of a problem if it is mid-terrace as you only have front and back walls to consider.
2 things to consider.
Do you have good roof insulation?
Check the consumption your gas fire - some types are very poor.0
