in Credit cards
First time new member so very much a dip the toe in exercise!!
Briefly, M&S incorrectly sold me PPI back in as part of a store card back in 1986. There was a fundamental change in 2003 when the "store card" changed to an M&S credit card in 2003. They did not ask if there had been a fundamental change in my circumsatances...there had been in that I had become self employed. They bounced it back on the basis tough, time out. Ombudsman after 9 months after registering my "claim" said "sorry M&S were not regulated by the FSA until Jan 2005 and what's worse, they were also not a member of the GISC.
I even have a letter from M&S stating "we are of the opinion that the policy was mis-sold" and yet they are sitting there cocking a snoop at the system because of lack of policing their business and knowing the Financial Ombudsman can't help. Fair, just or right?? Anyone got any advice or suggestions?
