Shocking Price difference from Comet to Comet!!!!!!!!!!!!

Last week I bought a fridge freezer from Comet and a wine chiller in Salisbury. I paid £299.99 for the FF and £99.99 for the wine chiller. On Saturday I went to Comet in Swindon to pick up my Ice Cube Maker (a bargain from this site!!) I said to hubby lets have a look at the FF and make sure we are happy with it (not delivered as yet).

We found the fridge and were surprised to see it advertised at £399.99. We thought we will check out the Wine Chiller and guess what..£149.99. I stopped a member of staff and gave him the story of our sale and the price differences, he couldnt really justify it much but said all the stores differ in price to keep in with the competitiveness of the area!!

I dont know about anyone else but I am shocked that If I see an item in Comet from now on I will feel as if I have to Contact all my local Comet stores to ask the price of the item I would like to purchase to see which store is selling it the cheapest.

I mean the FF is 1/3 more and the Wine Chiller is 50% more. We are not talking £10 or even £20 here we are talking lots of money!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

P.S....I am glad I went to the Salisbury Store!!!!!!

I think it is more likely to be that offers will have changed rather than prices being different in different areas, but I may be wrong. Were the two stores in totally different class areas?

Have same story here.......looked on comets website and found price for ff cheaper...went into store and told them that it was cheaper from your online store...and they price matched!!!

Dont know how many folk paid the more expensive price...pure profit for comet!
They did say that they would change the label to the cheaper price but did not see them rushing to do so!

Well I can fully understand and believe the store price and website price being different!

I had the same problem with PC world. I bought a small network hub in the Leeds store for £29.99. A few days later I was working in Poole and needed a hub so I went to PC world, only to find the same hub at £49.99 ! A rip-off even at the cheaper price.

comet match prices to any competitors within a 10 mile radius, and they also match with certain web sites, as a rule stores wont usually match internet prices.
