Nutrasome - can get it from boots bout £7.99
  • There's L'oreal Elive for men which alot of people say works well and available in most chemists/supermarkets/boots and cheapish too.

The other alternaive is SLS free JASONS thin to thick which is all natural stuff again has great reviews but as expensite as nutrasome and only available in health shops or online as far as I know.

nioxin works wonders for male patterned baldness . it works by removing DHT from the scalp. DHT is a byproduct of testosterone, DHT damages hair follicles giving the apperance of thining hair eventually destroying the hair follicles and leaving bald patches.

ladies if you suffer from pcos or have a hormonal imbalance and if you have thining hair or a receading hairline this stuff is great !

its around £40 for a starter kit and this stuff is concetrated so a little goes a long long way , check out nioxin.com were they have a self assessment questionaire to determine which product best suits you .

    hope this helps

  • ..I've just recently used Alpecin available for around £5 at Boots. It seems to work would be worth a try:-

Not sure if it works yet, but my dad has just started using it and his hair looks so shiney. Too early to say if it works though
  • Ladies with thinning hair (with no previous history of it) should get a check up at the docs, as it can be a symptom of a thyroid or other hormone problem, coeliac disease etc. I would also recommend looking at your diet, trying vitamin and mineral supplements, cod liver oil, and evening primrose oil.

I was using the Aussie hair thickening shampoos but have now switched to the SLS free ones: the Bedhead one is good, but pricy.

does anyone know what I can use for extremelythinning hair for women (Ican see my scalp through my hair).

I have just started using the Ficker shampoo and conditioner (which I bought from Sally Salon Services, I don't know if it's available to buy elsewhere) I found my hair was feeling much thicker and shinier after about a week, now I've been using it for about 3 weeks my hair is much better than it's been for years.:T

I bought the smallest size, 280 mls for around a fiver but now I know I like it I'm going to buy the salon sizes which I think are about £10 each.
You'll make my day if I know I've been helpful to you in some small way,
so please press my :T thanks :Tbutton x
  • has anyone tried the L'oreal hair thickening shampoo for men yet and I wonder if it's suitable for women also? This one doesn't seem too expensive so just wondered if it was any good.
