internet explorer has started jamming up?

in Techie Stuff
had my internet explorer jamm up a few times over the last few days

its the lastest version you get with vista (how can i check what version??)

anyway is there a repair or trouble shooting thingy i can run?

my anti virus and spyware thingys are up to date and ran often

    See if you still get the problem with Firefox http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/

    Download Malwarebytes if you haven't got it already http://www.malwarebytes.org/mbam.php Install it, then update it. After run a quick scan and remove everything it finds and post the log it creates back here.

    Download hijackthis http://www.filehippo.com/download_hijackthis/
    Install it, then press "Do a system scan and save a logfile" it will create the logfile in notepad post the contents of it back here.

    I've been getting random lock ups on IE7 since the emergency security patch a few weeks back, there is another update on Tuesday so maybe it will fix it

    try running IE7 without Add ons, under control panel , accessories then system tools , should see the option there

    Bit off topic but friend just been saying that he has problem with Flash/IE on certain sites, that has only appeared in last few days.
    Brand new re-install of Xp Pro, so will suggest he waits and avoids those sites.
    Move along, nothing to see.

    Interesting post.

    My dell gave up the ghost before xmas and have been using wifes laptop which also did the same thing - one min fine then just seems to freeze and eventually offers you choice of wait, close, or something else.

    Dell replaced my pc last week but put my old HD in there but still had to reinstall Vista and put latest MS updates on at the same time.

    Noticed it is now doing exactly the same thing as yours and the wifes. Websites are nothing exotic - gumtree, bbc, ebay, so think previous poster is spot on and hopefully will be fixed in next update.
