bluezone wrote:I know I may get shouted at here but the child maintenance would be going up to a staggering £751.something a month. Once you then add tax credits (and whatever the equivalent is for family allowance), thats quite a lot of money for one adult and 2 children. And lets not forget that the ex works part time. I would like to have that sort of money a month should I have 2 children. My sister and brother inlaw who have two kids don't have that much a month. Lets just remember that there are 2 sides to every coin here please!
Thanks. And yes it IS that per month! OK I earn a good wage but when I take all the essential expenses away that leaves about £1000 per month, of which I'll now lose £750 of it. Hardly fair.0 -
black-saturn wrote:The mother doesnt actually receive that maintenance though. My ex pays £75 per week but I only receive £10 of it, the rest goes to the government. If you work you get more of it but not all of it.
What ??
I pay directly to my ex. Why should the government get their hands on most of it ?0 -
Is it me or does your salary come out to be £100,000 if calulated at £751 per month. My exhusband got to the earning region of £35000 and we received £285 per month but there was £5.00 per week arrears. He maintained a very nice lifestyle as did I. Theres no mention of arears just a basic calculated amount.
I did work part time then as the children were younger and did need more attention, this was up to the age of 14/11 so homework etc, clubs the usual housework had to be done. Its surprising how many benefits you don't receive when recieving a decent payment of child support and working.Panda xx

No, my salary is half that amount. The BASIC maintenance for 2 kids is relatively "fixed" at £128.59 (£42.27 for each child + 15.95 famly expense + £55.65 "additional" expense (which varies according to how old the youngest child is)). The additional £45 per week is based on my salary, house costs, additional children etc and is what they think I can afford. But I don't think I can!
I even think the £128.59 per week is very high : it seems to assume that I will be paying the whole amount for food, clothes, putting a roof over their head, etc, and doesn't factor in the fact that the PWC should be contributing to all that as well !0 -
If she only receives £10 per week of it, she will be receiving IS. Income support allows you keep £10 per week, the rest is clawed back to cover the benefits being paid out.I no longer work in Council Tax Recovery but instead work as a specialist Council Tax paralegal assisting landlords and Council Tax payers with council tax disputes and valuation tribunals. My views are my own reading of the law and you should always check with the local authority in question.0

And theres you my ex wont give me a penny and the CSA are a waste of time, just as they do his assesment he gives up work do its assessed at £0
then he starts work and does the same again assesment is £0
I get no Money and he gets away with it every time................
The csa wont even take money for when he worked because the assesment is £0
He is in his right to pay me Jack sh*t..........
THE SYSTEM SUCKS *Big Time*:ASexy_fufu:A0 -
Don't give me ideas ! I don't want my girls to miss out and I'm quite willing to pay what's reasonable, I just don't think this is ! My new wife and baby have to skimp on the things that I'm paying for my other kids to do, and babies cost much more!0

Well, I'm going to try this anyway. I did get through to the CSA and they said since we settle the payments privately then paying into separate accounts for my ex, and the children, would not matter to them. So I'll pay my ex the basic maintenance of £128 per WEEK, and pay the rest into accounts for the kids directly. IF she complains to the CSA they make take no action since they should see I have the kid's (rather than their mum's) interests at heart, which SHOULD be their main concern.0
