I placed an order with Barratts shoes on December the 20th and recieved a confirmation that they had recieved my order. I only selected the 'slow' postage option so knew I wasn't likely to get anything in a hurry! On the 30th I emailed their customer service team just to enquire when I would recieve my order and they replied
"Thank you for your e-mail.I have looked into this for you, it looks like you have used the standard delivery so you should receive the items sometime this week or next week.
Kind Regards."
That was ok, I could wait. Then on Friday I recieved an email:
Thank you for shopping at Barratts Shoes.

I was a little bit annoyed  to say the least but I phoned them up to try and find out why. The women on the other end of the phone said they couldn't tell me why it was "just cancelled", I said well I want to know if it is because for example you ran out of stock or worse whether my card was rejected. She inisted there was no way to find out. Then I asked why it had taken so long and she says "it just did" so I asked to speak to a supervisor! She said there are none on this number I will give you the number. Well the one she gave never gets answered.
All I want to know is why it took so long to tell me and why it was cancelled
but now i really want to complain to someone and I don't even know who to complain to (any ideas??).

Why bother. Sounds like you've had a lucky escape.0 -
Try writing to them as they have to reply to written complaints. Sounds a little similar to my experience with New Look.0

Thank you fightbacknow, what happened with New Look, did you get anywhere after complaining then?Courage is the art of being the only one who knows you're scared to death.

I have a thread open of exactly what happened but I ended up getting a refund for the clothes not available and the delivery (delivery refund because the things that they did have instock came really late) I plan to follow it up with a letter though because I sorted it via telephone and do not feel my thoughts were taken onboard about their stock take.0

wow that sounds rubbish! what a response: "there was no way to find out."
id complain about their service but dont order again.0 -
Well I certainly wont order from them again but I still think they must know why my order was cancelled, they probably ran out of stock but is that really any excuse for leaving it that long to tell me?!Courage is the art of being the only one who knows you're scared to death.

Whoops.
I ordered some shoes online from them last Wednesday.
I did however receive a confirmation of dispatch email and a tracking reference to use on the "Home Delivery Network" website.
Took me a while to order them though. My first few choices came up as "Insufficient stock to fill your order"
I was going to buy another pair this weekend anyway as I need ta new pair for Wednesday but my local stores did not have anything I liked.0 -
I ordered 3 pairs in the sale and they all arrived fine. I ordered another pair recently so hopefully they'll turn up too.0
-
Well,
The shoes I ordered on Wednesday evening actually arrived at my office on Friday afternoon but reception forgot to tell me until today.
I can't knock that for service, especially as I chose the cheapest postage option.
I also got emailed a 10% off voucher for next time.
I will be buying online from them in future, saves traipsing around my local shopping centre.0
