Where to start with savings?

I have no savings!
After a period of around 18 months or so I’ve been focusing on clearing debt and as a result I’m now debt free but have absolutely no savings so where do I start?
In addition to saving £250 per month in my company ShareSave scheme I have £750 per month left over to save but I’m not exactly sure what to do with it.
My initial thoughts were;
£300 – cash ISA (have an HSBC e-cash ISA open and empty)
£450 – some sort of instant access account as a contingency fund until I have 6 months expenses saved (around £9k)
at which point I’d look to open a H-L vantage ISA and begin buying units in IT’s …
I’m very much open to suggestions from people far more knowledgeable than myself here….
Thanks in advance.

Instant access savings, ISAs and regular savings accounts are the best place to work from.
Use a site like https://www.moneysupermarket.com/savings to compare options.
What are you saving for? How long are you saving for?
If it's "rainy day" and "forever" as your answers, I'd see an IFA. https://www.unbiased.co.uk.
They can identify a range of savings, investing and protection options that will exploit tax advantages the best way possible.0
