Slowvember winners - have you been on your break yet?

I had my break there last weekend, it was all very nice, the grounds are beautiful!
I agree with Lysney though, it's defiantly a bit confusing when you first get there! I think the car park and roads have been made deliberately confusing and weird to make people drive really slowly - I'm sure you couldn't make them that bad by accident!
If people are looking for somewhere to eat other than the hotel itself I can recommend the old bell pub which just a couple of minutes drive away - we ended up there at 8:30 after driving around for a place called "the winning hand" where we were booked in, but it's kind of maze like around there if you don't know where you are or have a map! Anyway, we went there in desperation not hoping for much as from the outside it looked like a typical chain pub with microwave food - we were pleasantly surprised! They had a great menu, very reasonably priced and the food was delicious - my only criticism was that my mixed grill could've done with a few peas or something! (it was just a pile of meat, an egg and some chips - but was all cooked to perfection!). It cost £50 for 3 courses for both of us including a bottle of wine, which I thought was a very reasonable! And all the staff were very friendly and helpful too.
If you want to go there, turn left out of the main gate of Wokefield Park, follow that road for a couple of minutes (be careful – it’s a 2 way country lane and quite twisty but in many places it’s only wide enough for 1 vehicle) when you come to the cross roads turn right and the pub it just a few hundred yards down on the right, next to a chain hotel (travel lodge or holiday inn or similar, can’t remember which one it was now) . As I said, it’s much nicer than it looks from the outside!
Tinkerbell: - just noticed your question, Yes breakfast is included, although when we asked at reception we were told it wasn't and went down prepared to pay £7.50 each. So it was a nice surprise when we were asked for my name and then ushered in! ha ha It's a buffet style with all the usual fry up stuff, and a few cereals and croissants and stuff (I stuck with the fry up so didn't really look over there!) Quite nice, also we rushed down at 9:30 because the info said it finnished at 10, but when we walked past again just before 11 there were still loads of people eating there! ha ha[FONT="]
