I just had an e mail from smile bank.
from the 5th January 2006 we've changed the credit interest paid on your smile current account from 3.25% gross p.a. to 3.00% gross p.a. fixed, until at least the 4th January 2007.

I got that email, too. I was rather surprised by the rather casual feel of the email - just plain text, no graphics like you'd get from LloydsTSB etc. Shame about the reduced interest rate, but then I don't think you'd be using smile just for the interest rate. Plus, I'm not expecting there to be large amounts of cash in my account! I've only recently opened the account to help with budgeting, and I haven't really started using it properly yet. Have I made a good choice?£2 coin savers club: £1.49
