Just a quick question to see anyone knows if I could connect my xbox 360 to the internet (xbox live) via the cable below that Argos sell.
http://www.argos.co.uk/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/Search?storeId=10001&catalogId=4501&langId=-1&searchTerms=6761006
I currently have ADSL broadband which has a different connector so I cannot connect it via the supplied ehternet cable as my connection on my modem is a smaller size but I was wondering could I connect the modem end into the 360 and the phone line connector into my ADSL splitter connector which has a phone line connector on it?
Any help appreciated

No you couldn't do that because it isn't coming from your ADSL connection. You need to purchase some extra equipment for the easiest way to get xbox live working. Basically you'll need an ADSL router which you can then connect your computer and xbox live to via the supplied ethernet cable.0

You can pick up some decent NAT routers (common home type of router - NAT is the type of firewall stands for network address translation) for £40 - £50 but you need to make sure that it has a feature called "Port Forwarding" as this needs configuring for use of some features of Xbox Live.
A good router which has dropped significatantly in price is the Netgear DG834G which can be seen and bought here: http://www.ebuyer.co.uk/customer/products/index.html?action=c2hvd19wcm9kdWN0X292ZXJ2aWV3&product_uid=52754 It includes all the features you need, although it doesn't have wireless which means your PC and Xbox need to be close or you need to be prepared to run a/two long ethernet cable(s).0 -

I use netgear stuff and i find they are great. personally i'd spend a bit extra and get a wireless one - for another £20 or so.
I think its an 835G - we then added the wireless xbox 360 dongle and it works perfect0
