i turned on my pc today and instead of usual windows screen , there was a message box, stating - you may be a victim of software counterfeiting- and then instead of screeensaver coming up with desktop icons, the background screen was black with the desktop icons. like it is when you start in safe mode.
i clicked to resolve problem , which prompted me to download a file.
file downloaded but window came up, showing problem not resolved.
followed instructions , but problem still not resolved.
downloaded file:-
WGPAPluginInstall.exe
binary file
however i cannot open this file
and resolve problem.

It occasionally goes wrong (apparently) but that sounds like the message you get when you save money by getting a (badly) pirated copy of windows...
Obviously nobody here would do that, so just phone micorsoft and, using the product key (either on the box xp/vista came in, or on a sticker on the back of the PC case) it will be quickly resolved.
