Eek - holiday with teens !

Hello all

I've (stupidly!) promised my daughter (aged 15) that she can take two mates with us on holiday this summer. Partly because she will have finished her GCSE exams, and party because as an only child she gets very bored and moans thus spoiling the holiday for me and hubby !

Can anyone recommend somewhere what would be suitable for three teenage girls (plus a pair of oldies). Safe but not boring, they need things to do and be able to roam around themselves but I would like to be able to keep a close eye on them. We really enjoyed Santa Eulalia in Ibiza so could anyone recommend something along those lines. We can travel from end of May onwards so are not tied by the school summer holidays for once ! I have upto £2500 to spend on all five of us.

Would ideally like nice beach, nice town for shopping & restaurants, some 'fun' stuff for teenagers like waterparks and sightseeing for us oldies. Maybe a hotel with disco attached so they can feel they are partying but I can see what they are upto !

Tall order I know but there must be others out there who have survived holidays with teenagers and lived to tell the tale !

Cheers

What about a mobile home on a french campsite in the south of France.

Airtours have some properties with an Escape Club designed for 12-16 year olds. They might like that.
Here I go again on my own....

As suggested by Richardw, the French campsites are great, if you fancy taking your car or doing fly-drive and renting a car for getting around out there.
Otherwise I don't think you can beat Majorca...loads to do, nice quick flight times and some great deals on flights (try thomsonfly/easyjet etc) or package deals. I wouldn't let my teenagers actually go clubbing out there at 15, but there are lots of lively music bars with dancing, karaoke etc where you could all go together. I'd say the resorts would be safe enough for them to all go out shopping together, or to the beach/cafe etc. Probably they could all go on a coach tour without you -plenty of trips round the island, caves of Drach, waterparks etc. If you book a big hotel that's in most of the English brochures and has good deals for families, there will almost certainly be other teenagers there with their families, and probably discos and barbecue nights for a bit of entertainment. Hopefully a few of those things that 15 year old girls like best: 16 year old boys!!!
Don't forget to have a couple of trips arranged to keep everyone busy around the middle of your stay....in our experience things can always get a bit tense and hormonal when teenage "best friends" have spent a few days together without their usual space, and a few tears and fall-outs is almost inevitable!
Good luck! You're very brave! :rotfl:

I wasn't sure if you were looking for somewhere out of England but I can really recomend Potters http://www.pottersholidays.com/ in Norfolk. Theres loads to do on site that comes within the price as well as 3 meals a day (3 course meal or Buffet, Omelette bars and Salad Bars) and great evening entertainment (I sound like a rep :rotfl: ).
But it is a great week away :)

Most of the Haven sites have an activity club for teenagers and when theyre not in that they have discos to keep them amused.

I have just booked for turkey and in the brochure there is a large hotel on a water park called aqua fantasy(first choice families) £500 /head for a week all inclusive. You could have one room for you and one for the girls If she is doing GCSE then the exams finish end of June or are you in Scotland? Last year last exam was something like the 27th June. My DD then had to go back into school for a 6th form taster week.

They do :) Its aimed as an 'adults only 5 star hoilday camp' (to pull the punters in I supose) but they provide great entertainment for under 16s - even my brother wasn't bored (and thats saying something ;) )

Thanks for all the help, and I've booked the first two weeks in July off work to make sure I don't clash with the end of exams, but hopefully it will still be cheaper. Thanks for warning me about the exam dates beautifulgorgeous !
I'm edging towards Majorca or Salou. I fancy halfboard or all inclusive as I don't want to do any cooking and they are typically fussy teenage girls !
Potters in Norfolk looks lovely but a bit out of my price range, and I would like a warm sunny holiday.
Any more suggestions, please keep them coming !
