Greyhounds revisited (long post!)

Hi all a while ago I posted a thread about potentially adopting a greyhound and well I tried but I was the wrong mom for the little girl I had. Therefore the rescue took her back as she was so stressed by my working pattern.
So roll on four weeks and next met and greet, went to see how Millie was getting on, was told she now had a new family :T. Then kind of said so would anyone here be suitable as only dog with working mum. Off tootles the lady and returns with a big lack girl called Izzy. Well full of trepidation as I did not want to let another little girl down, she kind of found her way into my car (well I shovelled her in actually :rotfl:).
Fast forward eight weeks, lot of learning, as my new little girl is a thief. Enjoys showing you up in public, if she sees a squirrel (SP?), rabbit or cat, and I do mean show you up. She pulls, jumps four foot off the floor and screams like you are strangling her  I have had traffic slow down to watch the show we put on. Well today I went to officially adopt Izzy and.........
When I was talking to lady she went there's Millie and I would not have recognised her, she has put weight on, and lost most of that "stressed" look. Her new mum and dad are the most lovely retired couple and boy does she love her daddy
and today Mille was also officially adopted :T.
Just goes to show what the "right" family can do, for rescue houndies, oh and ar'nt greyhound the best

Aww congrats on your new Dog! And well done for rescuing!0 -
oh brilliant!! - I was only thnking of that thread the other day - she sounded like a lovely dog who just wasnt able to live with your routine, work etc.
.. so - where are the piccies?? Izzy sounds a lot like my mums lurcher was (she is much much better now) but was a champion sneak thief, you could not leave a cup of tea un-attended and she also managed to scoff lots of things from tea-tables, worktops etc - including a very hot lamb curry and half a pound of lurpak!!
She also tends to lunge at cats, squirrels etc - my mum got her a harness and she almost pulled her off her feet when lunging at cats - it was a bit risky, so we went to get her a halti, but she objected to having anything ut over her face, in the end we got her a mikki walk-rite and its brilliant! - it soet of 'puts the brakes on' when the dog tries to pull - its made a real difference to walking her and helps train them to walk to heel.
Well done you, so many people would have been put of after what happened the first time - not your fault or the dogs, but heart wrenching for you all the same.0 -

Those who take care of them are most definately the best. No doubt.
Izzy and Millie are most fortunate. They both have families that will love them to the day they die.
What human could guarantee that?
Best wishes to you Izzy and Millie. Lucky dogs.0 -

Oh, she is lovely - what an athletic looking dog, and shiny too!!
She is very graceful - but she has a cheeky look about her too!
Does she have some little white snowflake spots in her coat?? (take it she has just been neutered from the shaved patches?) How old is she?0 -
Yes and yes, she has snowflake spots and was recently neutered in picture.
Izzy is four years old and a total toe rag at times :rotfl:, as for graceful........baby elephant comes to mind .
Just got her home and she walked through door, turned round and knocked speaker of Hi-Fi off table and smashed it . It has not got much better since, she seems to have no idea in which direction the rear end of her is going at any one time :eek:Mortgage Owed: Sept 14 - £107398.200
