Try local suppliers (yellow pages) or http://www.mrcentralheating.com/ or try Googling for boiler suppliers.Named after my cat, picture coming shortly0

I bought a Vaillant Boiler recently on the magic boiler scheme from PTS plumbing http://www.ptsplumbing.co.uk/ just get the model you want and let them know they will give you a price. Mine was 150 pound cheaper than anywhere else on the internet. Theres no forms to fill in or anything like that. Then I got my plumber to fit it. In all worked out alot cheaper than my plumber supplying it as he said he couldn't get it for that price.0

If you can find a plumber that is willing to fit a boiler you supply yourself, I can pretty much guarantee that http://www.uselessenergy.org.uk/boilers_prices.asp will be the cheapest place you can get one from, especially compared to getting one through your plumber.
However, not many gasmen/plumbers are keen on fitting boilers not supplied through themselves, and don't forget you may need to get extras such as flues and controllers if you buy the boiler yourself...0 -

I had several quotes to install my central heating and all of the plumbers had no problems at all with fitting a boiler supplied by myself.
Just my comments! hope it helps.0 -
In a skip!!
I don't like the idea of a combi.
How big is your house?
How many bathrooms/showers?
Would you for example use a dishwasher or washing machine whilst showering?
What would you do for hot water if the boiler broke down?
Personally a conventional boiler with a hot water tank and immersion heater suits me better. Dopn't expect everyone to feel the same, but to my mind there are some significant drawbacks with combi's.Don't lie, thieve, cheat or steal. The Government do not like the competition.

I'm sorry, I don't apologise. That's just the way I am. Homer (Simpson)0 -
Wow! Thanks for all the info theres some great links there. I have done my sums and know that a combi will work fine it my property.
The model I'm interested in is the Glow-worm 30 Cxi and it is listed on the uselessenergy site and is the cheapest price I have seen.
But I will give the PTS guys a ring!
Thanks

I think my new combi is great. Instant hot water. With all the kids there was never any hot water left on the conventional system, plus the new condensing combi's are great for keeping gas costs down.
If you can I would defo go for a vaillant, I know its a few quid more but you get 2 years warranty and they have a great reputation.
If you ring PTS mention that the price you want is for the magic boiler scheme.0 -
I am probably going to do the same; get the radiators and combi myself, and get someone to do the pipe work.
I have a four bedroom house (although one room has no windows, due to extension, so is not classed as a bedroom).
What make/model of combi would be best?0 -

This site seems to be great unfortunately it appears that you have to be a Corgi registered heating engineer in order to register to get the excellent prices. Any help to get round this most appreciated0
