Contents insurance reclaim????

Can someone please help me? When i moved into my house in 2005 I phoned around and was getting quotes for contents insurance, as it was quite hard to remembe what everyone had quoted and what was covered I asked for it in writing. I had a quote from Barclays bank and the paperwork with all details written on there, along with it was the paper for me to sign and return if i wanted to take it out with them. Whilst on the phone before they had sent anything, they asked for bank details. I just thought this was maybe for credit scoring etc. I never signed and returned the paperwork and didnt even take out contents insurance. I have just been going through old bank statements to find out what bank charges i have paid in the last 6 years. I have just noticed that in 2005 there was a direct debit to barclays insurance. I carried on looking through my statements and there are 6 months direct debits for this contents insurance that i never agreed to. Does anyone know whether I would have a right to claim these back????
