Paypal Questions (for Quidco)

I hope this is in the correct place. Please Move it if it isn't.

I normally use greasypalm but can't seem to get past £19.98. ( Will have to Try harder with the free cashbacks but don't like to put my name and address online).

I am going to change to Quidco because I will get a better return when I change to Scottish power but I need a paypal account.

I Don't know anything about paypal, I tried a search lots of entries but not many about paypal itself.

Can you tell me please. do I open the account Via ebay?. Is it safe to use paypal, I think I have to give my bank details I don't normally like to do this online? My last question is why do people ask for Paypal codes, what do you use these for.

If you think I need anymore Info please pass it on, I am new to all this.

Thank-you

Michelle

it is perfectly safe to use Paypal.

the codes you are referring to are for use on eBay, (like money of vouchers)

if you sign up for a personal account, then you won't incur fees when Quidco send you the money (echeque)

follow link to sign-up through Paypal

I've got a basic paypal account I opened to buy something from an ebay store. Will I need to do anything to it to be able to receive money from Quidco?

like chompie says make sure you only sign up for a basic account, that means your payments from Quidco will be received free of charge.

You will need to give all your bank details, and verify them if you plan to withdraw your money rather than use the paypal balance to buy other things.

As long as it is a basic acocunt you will be fine. Quidco usually pay by echeque which takes approx 10 days to clear, but you get notified by paypal when your payment arrives, then receive a further notification when the payment clears and you can withdraw it or spend it.

It is a strange thing that sometimes happen when the sender uses a bank transfer. Rather than the payment arriving immediately it arrives but shows as uncleared like a cheque.

Paypal usually warn you that it takes about 4 working days to clear, in reality it can be as much as 10 working days.
The paypal email you receive does make it clear though that you have received an e cheque.

I have upgraded to sell on Ebay so what does this mean in terms of receiving cashback from referral sites? Do I lose some of it?
I'm sorry but I'm not Mike!

If you have upgraded to a premier account then you will unfortunately pay paypal fees on your Quidco payments.

The best thing to do is open a new basic paypal account. Use the basic one for cashback payments and keep the premier one for selling on ebay.
