ING Direct

ING's internet savings account has a variable rate of 2.72%. But for new accounts adds a bonus of 2.17% for 12 months. Not a fixed rate, but does give total access and can be opened with just £1.

    Yep, i applied for this the other night. You get an account number straight away and then just send a cheque off.

    A home for my NR bond thats ends at the end of this month.

    It also beats the tax free cash ISA rate I am getting at the moment as well but I don't really fancy taking £10K+ out of the ISA and losing the tax "advantages"

  • Does this apply to all money in there for 12 months? Eg If I deposit a lump sum and than withdraw half will the bonus % still apply for 12 months?

    The bonus rate of 2.17% is fixed for a year, plus a variable rate of 2.25% which more than likely will soon fall..
