Dell Warrenty...could i do this?

Hello,

My warrenty expired on my laptop a few months ago.

The AC adapter has gone faulty on my laptop and they cost around £60 to replace. Would I be able to ring up and extend my now expired warrenty on my laptop, then a few days later explain to them Im having problems with the AC adapter for them to come and replace it or would that be a bit "iffy"?

Thanks

I don't know if Dell allow you to extend a warranty that's already expired.

Have you tried Ebay to see if someone is flogging a 2nd hand one off.

Maplins sell universal adaptors for less than £60.

Im not sure about this but I dont think the power supply would be covered
  • Power supplies are covered by a Dell extended warranty, but you certainly won't be able to extend it once the original has expired.

I'll put a quid on the adaptor being available for less than £60 somewhere.

I've had a similar problem and I contacted Dell and they swapped out the adapter even once the Warranty had expired. It might be worth a phone call to them.

You could go into PC World or another conputer shop and steal a new adapter.

    Both options are equally moral.;)
