Hi all,
A few of us are starting an allotment very soon. This thread is going to be such great reading!
We are looking for cheap wellies. Do you have ideas where to get them from?
I hope someone can help.
Thanks,
JT

yes lidl will have wellies as nodwah said, in different colours they are £5.99, bargain I think, have a look at their website.
The cheapest (£9.99) I have found online are http://www.completeoutdoors.co.uk/Wellington-Boots/PVC-Wellies-(sizes-1-to-12) hope that is ok to put that there, i'm still new
Good luck with your welly hunt!0 -
I know this is not moneysaving but I have always found cheap wellies to be false economy - you normally get what you pay for.
Cheap ones normally split around the ankles, give me very sore rubs on my ankles and quite often let water in.
I have owned a pair of 'Hunter' wellies for nearly 4 years and they are great. (I wear them daily during the winter - for both mucking out the horses and gardening) They weren't cheap £40+ but they have been great and still look brand new - when I wash all the mud off!! ;-)0 -

I love the patterns on this site. not the cheapest but definately the prettiest!
I can't find any wellies to fit my calves. Too much walking and dancing and stuff have left me with, to put it nicely, unladylike calves that don't fit in standard wellies.0 -

Same here. I normally wear hiking style boots anyway - much more durable and much less likely to let a fork through!

I know how you both feel, I'm coming out of the closet as a chunky. Maybe there should be thread for that!
Anyway that's why I quite like the clogs and ankle boot type of wellies for gardening and also old hiking boots - have the best soles.
My neighbour handed a pair of wellies over the fence to me yesterday and I didn't want to try them on in front of her in case they wouldn't go up my legs and they're 2 sizes to big! I remember a very embarassing incident in a huntin shootin fishin shop when I tried the Hunter wellies, thinking that they have buckles at the side to make them extendable, well they don't! I thought some horsey types have thick legs, but obviously not as thick as mine.Just call me Nodwah the thread killer0 -

Matalans aren't bad - can't remember the price of the adults - As I have tiny feet I managed to get some kids ones for £2 in sparkly pink!0

To anyone with ahem' sturdier legs like mine, I saw wellies today in ahorsey shop which I've forgotten the brand name of ... something like muck boots. Anyway they're wellie-like at the foot and neoprene at the top and between £15-£20 not cheap but probably quite good.Just call me Nodwah the thread killer0
