ive recently started selling fancy goods on ebay , and im forever going off to the post office loaded with parcels and jiffy bags, when i get there its a long labourious process of weighing and waiting for a sticker, the parcels i post range from about 70p to around £4.50, is there a quicker/ cheaper / easier way, maybe a parcel company??

Decide how much it will cost if you have a person who says the item has not been delivered....then consider 1st or nd class with only proof of delivery.
What I do is......
Get a load of recorded delivery slips from PO and fill them in prior to going to PO. Even though my items sell for between £40 - £50 I have decided Special Delivery is too expensive and on my margins the extra £2-£3 is better in my pocket rather thanthe PO. I will run the risk and take the loss..basically self insurance.
The PO will cover you upto £28 on recorded.
Cheapest courier I have found is £8-£9 per item.0 -
If you are sending a lot of items regularly royal mial have a service that if you mail sort your own items then they will pick it up and you get a discount or something similar to that...I looked into it before but couldn't be bothered as I wasn't sending enough out! check out the website https://www.royalmail.co.uk

hi my 1st reply so iv picked an easy post :-[
we have a number of affiliates on QXL and eBay and all now use the simple process of royal mail smart stamps, it is a simple download from their home page http://www.royalmail.co.uk once you have downloaded and registered a valid credit / debit card you can then use the smartstamp software to print your own 1st / 2nd / special delivery stamps whenever you want.
smartstamps allows all postage items, letters, parcels and even parcelforce (upto 20kg) so whatever you are selling or sending in uk or abroad just print your own.
we have been using smartstamps for about a year and you can even put your own logo on your envelopes or parcel labels, smartstamps works with all inkjet and lasers and comes with budles of ready made templates.
so all you need is a decent set of digital scales and you never have to wait at the post office again!!! unless you like wasting work time :-)
hope this helps with best way to post
;D
p.s i DO NOT work for the post office :-)0
