Has anyone got info on EDF gas / electric suppliers. Are they genuine, or just out to get your customer with problems of price etc on second years contract with them?:rotfl:

The problems will start from the first month, not the second year. They may tempt you in with an initial low monthly INSTALMENT but their actual CHARGES are average (at best.) The only way to tell is compare their prices with other companies' prices with what you think your consumption will be.
As to fixed or capped tariffs, this is not the best time to take one - prices may (eventually) fall in two to four months (the January estimate is ridiculously optimistic) but you will be stuck paying five to ten percent extra plus an extra ten percent after the fall (if fixed). Plus you have to keep your eye open to see if they introduce any new tariffs later that are cheaper than yours.
So: EDF aren't any better or worse than any of the others. But make sure you switch based on what your actual consumption will cost, not what any salesman says your instalments will be.0
