In early october I arranged for a glass company to price me replacement glass for some of my blown double glazing units, it was £660.00, had no plan or idea I would be booking my br by the end of that month. I agreed on the day and signed to order them. About 10 days later my head started to come out of the sand so I rang them and asked if I could cancel and the lady said she would check if they were made, she rang back and yes they were, it was agreed they would be stored for 3 months, she rang this morning and I informed her I was br and at the moment did not know if I could keep the house. I have not had the windows fitted and if I lose the house there is no point.
My question is do I tell the OR about it and add them to my list (but they have not been fitted I just signed a piece of paper that I have not got a copy of as they did not give me one)or if I get to keep the house try and get the money together and get them in the future fitted, that is if the glass company will store them for a few more months. Do not know what to do.

My second question is if I am given a BRO what does it mean, I understand in 12 months I will bbe discharged but does it mean I am still connected to the OR or does he finish with me and it just affects my credit rating for 3 years0

Thanks for that link. Am I right in thinking that you get a BRO if you dispute what the OR says, if the OR says I have acted recklessly etc and I agree then do I get a BRU instead of a BRO. It was bad enough my name in the paper saying I was br, with a BRO it clearly goes into detail in the paper.0

Yes, a BRO is when you have the order imposed on you by the OR because an undertaking wasn't given.

Thank you again
Reading the bottom of the info basically the BRO is placed as a way of protecting people from the br, I can honestly say that I will never ever want credit again. I have been stupid, naive and most of all scared. But always with the intention of doing the right thing. If trying to put food on the table, honour my debts in anyway I could, yes using credit to pay credit some times), but always with the hope that things would improve and never thinking a recession would hit our house and income like it has, then if that deems me as being reckless then I hold my hands up.
Sorry just getting anxious about any punishments I might receive. I am mad with myself for getting into this mess. Yesterday was a good day, today is a bad day, but tomorrow I am sure will be better.0 -
You are echoing just what I have been thinking, feeling and saying ever since I discovered the extent of the s**t that I was in and I expect a lot of others on here feel like that at times as well..
Now that my day is very close I too am worried about the OR interview.
But worry won't solve anything - what's done is done and nothing is going to change it.
Let's both be positive .......

You will be up and down emotionally - its only normal and we've all been through that. Do you know for sure if you are getting a BRU/BRO or just guessing at this stage? Its really nothing to worry about - you won't be in any 'trouble' its just that some of the BR restrictions will last longer than the bankruptcy itself - you'll still be discharged in 12 months unless you are uncooperative.
I believe ORs are under pressure at the moment to give out more BRUs so if you feel it is unjust you could dispute it.

I am only guessing as I accepted a loan from Barclays in May 2008 that all of a sudden appeared when I logged in, I did not ask for it, but after a few weeks I was desperate to stay on top, so accepted it.It was a set amount they offered me over a minimum of 5 years. I did not think seven months later I would be br. I did not realise that I could be helped and thought I would be in debt on the day I died.
Will he understand this, can I say this to him and is there a possibilty he will believe me. I know that eventually I will be through this, and looking at the restrictions of a BRO/BRU they don't bother me. I just feel that my life has been ruined for some many years I just want the nightmare to end.0 -
Has anyone any advice as to what I should do about the glass company, as I say it has not been fitted. They just said it has been made, but how do I know that.0
