Hi snackatack
I'm having similar problems.
I can't get any of the toolbar options within the message box to work at all.
The Thanks option also takes me to the top of the page as well!!!!
Grrrr !!!!!
Hi Guys!
I know I'm posting this on the wrong thread, but had no replies on the questions thread. Above is supposed to be a quote but as you can see, I am "largely dissfunctional". I can't even update my signature!
Any advice would be really gratefully received. Thank you.If only I knew then what I know now0 -
Hi Crazy Saver
Sorry to see you still waiting for the Ombudsman to deal with your case. Somebody posted a 2 year time span for dealing with cases - I really do hope that I dreamt that.
I have been having the same problems as you and the others with my toolbar etc so I am glad to see it is something to do with the site and not my ancient computer finally giving up the ghost. I also appear to have to log in incessantly - even though I haven't logged out -unless I tell it to remember me. I can insert simileys though.
ditto any help would be gratefully received.0 -
Hi mayb.
Just tried to thank you but "no joy", I just got sent to the top of the page again.
I received a letter yesterday from the FOS informing me that my case has at last been allocated to an adjudicator. Fingers Crossed!
Regards

I have a Royal Liver life endownment that my ex husband took out on my son for when he was 21 ,he is 15 now. When we seperated 2 yrs later it went into my name as the trustee and I made all the payments .I thought the shortfalls and misselling where only on the mortgages until my friend told me tonight it's all endownments am I to late to claim ? if not there are so many posts/threads on this where do I start to read up on what I am suppose to do ?0

In what way was the policy mis sold?I like to give people as many choices as possible to do what I want them to. (Milton H Erickson I think)0 -
I was told verbally it would mature at a certain amount, at least, but I'm unsure it will reach that and from what I understand you only have so long to query it don't you ?0

Verbal isnt good enough.
There are four sides to every story. What you said happened. What they will say happened. What really happened and how that is interpreted.
It's what is documented that is key to it all. A "savings" endowment was the main product of the 50s to early/mid 90s. There are differences in mortage endowments and savings endomwents as the sum assured levels differ. So, the same rules dont quite apply. However, one bit that does is attitude to risk. That said, many of these older saving endowments have a fair amount of guarantee built into them and whilst they are not performing very well, performance (or lack of) is not something you can complain about.
Attitude to risk is the only area that you could really complain.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only. They are not financial advice and you should not treat them as such. If you feel an area discussed may be relevant to you, then please seek advice from an Independent Financial Adviser local to you.0 -
If this is a savings endowment turtle these are treated quite differently by the Ombudsman to an endowment attached to a mortgage. If you were guaranteed an amount in writing you should at least get that. If you were promised more but didn't have it in writing they are not interested in my experience, even if you can prove it was missold to you - i.e you were not aware or understanding that you were risking your money in an investment.
Worth a try though - if all of the people who were missold their With Profits policies make a claim of misselling it may eventually move the mountain. I am not holding my breath on that one though. Good luck.0 -
Quick and probably dumb question to ask whilst I'm going through 21 pages of posts just on this on this thread
Who do I send the initial complaint letter to? in 1991 I went to the bank where I had my current account, NatWest, and they arranged the mortgage with an endowment from Norwich union. Do I complain to Norwich Union or NatWest. I have no idea of the status of the person at the bank selling - working for Nat West or IFA or working for Norwich Union.
I'd be grateful for a speedy answer as I want to get my letter sent today - alsas I ahve left it very late to complain0 -
Hi Sparky,
post to NU if the person at the bank was a tied agent then they will be responsible if not they will tell you who to complain to, probably Natwest if the person worked for them,
