Act now on mis-sold endowments: new article

I must be one the few people who did not claim for miss-selling of their endowment.
You are not. Whilst it is classed as a widespread issue, it is still only a minority of people that were actually mis-sold.Anybody think we have a chance of getting anything at all ?
Probably not. Most of Standard Life's endowments are time barred from complaint. Plus, you dont even say what the reasons for complaint are.but this bloke thinks its worth a go.

Hi Guys,
sorry if this has already been answered. My parents were sold an endowment policy in 1987. They were not told that it could underperform. Therefore, I believe it is a case of mis selling
I wrote a letter to the broker that sold the policy (it's a friends provident policy) in 2005 but received no response.
since then nothing has really happened.
Can I still make a claim to the FSCS? as I believe the broker is no longer trading?
The policy is due to mature later this year0 -

1987 is 25 years ago. Can they really remember the conversations like that? Even in 1987 there were risk warnings that they may not hit target.I wrote a letter to the broker that sold the policy (it's a friends provident policy) in 2005 but received no response.
Probably not trading any more. Can I still make a claim to the FSCS? as I believe the broker is no longer trading?
No. FSCS protection only applied to plans bought after Aug 1988. Plus, even if you could, it is probably time barred (over 3/4 of endowments are).I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). How do you find out if your endowment is time barred ?
Look at old statements (mostly from before 2008 when most become timebarred) as they usually gave the time bar date. Or phone up the provider and ask them if it is timebarred.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only. I never had an endowment and neither did I take out any PPI, can I make a claim?
Someone did suggest I take out an endowment but I declined this and took out a regular repayment mortgage, surely that is misselling in the extreme!Sealed pot challange no: 3390 -

Its like the person that complained for not being mis-sold as he now thinks he is missing out on a windfall.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA).
