  • I was approached recently at an event by someone from cartel group ltd ,they said that they would investigate any loans or mortgages that i had taken out to see if i had been mis sold them they charged £10 to look at the details of your said loan / mortgage then £495 for them to claim compensation back on your behalf. I would be really grateful if anybody could provide me with any information about this company eg is it as easy as it seems ? has anybody got any success stories/bad stories ? thank you

Hi mayb, glad you were interested. Adds to the list of people dissatisfied with their experience of the FOS.

If we end up in that position, I will definitely look to see if there are others who would join me in exploring the possibility of some sort of joint challenge to decision-making by the FOS.

I may have a long wait though, judging by Crazy Saver's story. I've been told that we are having to wait until our case can be seen by a 'specialist adjudicator.'

I'm bearing in mind all that I pick up from this site in the meantime.

I would definately be interested in that treliac - lets hope you don't need to go there!!

If you read EdInvestors link on that thread you will see that the review he refers to appears to be on behalf of the industry rather than the complainants. I will look at it again today but it does not bode well for us if so.

I would hope that all and any adjudicators are specialists - I do hope they are not normally employed as loss assessors for the insurance industry - another major problem these days.

Stan74 I would be very wary of anyone approaching you in this way. Have you any reason to believe you were missold an endowment mortgage or savings plan or other endowment product? Do you have any red letters for instance, warning you of a shortfall or showing something you have been paying into isn't going to make the return you were expecting.

If you have, the question is did you know it might not make the return that was claimed for it when it was sold to you. If you understood the risk there is nothing you can do. If you had no idea there was a risk and it isn't going to achieve its target you could be able to claim it was missold. From there you can do it yourself at no cost at all. I have pasted the link to the Which site on endowment misselling and a letter generator which you can use.

you can also get lots of information from the Money Saving Expert main site.

please do a search for cartel on the board.

They recently threatened the board with legal action due to a number of negative comments posted so I doubt you will get anything more specific than the thread that is currently in progress in this section.

    Thanks treliac.

I'm not as brave as mayb, I haven't signed anything yet. I need to be sure it's a genuine/secure site before I put my details on it. Will do my homework over the weekend.

    Regards

    Crazy Saver.
If only I knew then what I know now :)

If there's anything to worry about it's got me too, so let us know what you think Crazy Saver. It looks as legitimate as anything else I've taken a chance on though.
