Unlawful Agents And Landlords

I've been very unlucky with these!
The first company were bad....
When I lived in Hitchin in 2006 the landlords decided they wanted to move back in although we'd been led to believe we'd could stay there for a year, not 6 months, then they became increasingly difficult.
The landlords then threw out some of our items instead of hanging onto it even though we drove up a week later 200 miles and they bullied the agent Premier Move into handing over our £800 deposit (by claiming criminal damage and saying they would get the police involved - the agent had checked the property, marked it off and had said we would get our deposit back immediately) we later found out the police had laughed at the landlords when they claimed criminal damage. We were shown a list and it claimed for things like "wall being knocked down" and "fee for removing lcok from door)when there never was a wall when we moved in and the door lock had been agreed! It was all very unfair but then agents fobbed us off and played 'victim'.
Then next lot of landlords agents were EVEN WORSE and acted unprofessIonal and ILLEGALLY!
Firstly the agent Choices in Horley agreed the landlord would fix various thinge and replace the cooker, and windows which would not close properly! Of course the minute we moved in we were told "sorry no actually we're not fixing anything" without any explanation then when we called they were always "out to lunch!" and never returned countless calls!
Later then Choices/ Redeham property tried to take us to court! Choices claimed we had unpaid rent (untrue we were uptodate) and that they had sent a section 2,1 (that we never received) asking us to move out and that we never answered their calls - a complete lie as we had been trying to call them constantly about various issues!
We then agreed amicably to move out during the court hearing as wanted to be long shot of these unprofessional liars!
We moved out as agreed on 8th february 2008 and due to severe problems were unable to return for the rest of our items for 1 week. I informed them of this immediately and promised we would be back asap. When we returned to the property we found all our property gone except my treadmill worth over £300 which had been damaged and our washing machine that the tennants claimed were being rented with the property!!
There was no notice in the window as required by law so we went back to Choices who told us all of our stuff had been disposed of!
They apologised but refused to help any further saying it wasn't their fault and that the landlord Redeham properties had turned up, demanded the keys back, disposed off all our stuff and moved another couple straight in!
This of course cost us a small fortune and on top of this we lost important documents and many irreplacable and nostalgic items!!!
This explained a note we found pushed through the door when we first moved in: "Thanks for nothing. You left us with **** all!"
With this in reminds it sounds like it's regular practice for them and they are based on misinformation, outright lies and unlawful practises!
Anythoughts?
