Yes agree with beingjdc, insurance. You have to have the appropriate insurance without that you could be in trouble and costing you a lot of money if something goes wrong. Its not worth the risk.0

We are relocating due to work and dont wanna sell our house due to the market. I just phoned our mortgage company and they are happy to let us have permission to rent it out. We need to pay a one off fee of £225 and agree to change to a buy to let mortgage when our fixed period expires in 3 years. Much easier that I thought it would be!!
Can anyone recommend a good landlord insurance policy please?2012 wins approx £11,000 including 5k to spend on a holiday :j0 -
I can also pay an additional £165 to have the rent guaranteed (through an insurance co)

Read the small print VERY CAREFULLY. Most of these (seemingly good deal) are virtually worthless as they require the rent to be in arrears to a certain level, conditions on how tenants check, certain steps made for eviction at certain stage etc...0 -
www.alanboswell.co.uk does excellent landlords insurance policies. you also get a discount if you are a member of the national landlords association0
