PLEASE HEAR ME OUT:
Booted my computer today, and immediately got a "Multiple Threat Warning" from AVGfree protection software saying I had 2 infections, and the infected files were located in WINDOWS/system32 and were called nvaux32.dll.... Subsequently, the same message popped up twice within a couple of minutes - first with four infections and then with nine infections - all of the same type.
Anyway, I started to clean my computer methodically
- Offline SuperAntiSpyware scan in Safe Mode, using a fully updated version of the same.
- MalwareBytes scan in normal Windows XP
- HijackThis report
Both SAS and MalwareBytes fixed a lot of problems including tracking cookies (which I will delete from the logs in my next posts), and AVGfree quarantined one "trojan". However, I am not sure whether I have gotten rid of the problem. I will post the scan logs below (with the tracking cookie entries removed - they take up too much space). PLEASE TAKE THE TIME TO HELP. Thank you very much.
