Lol - so if we are replacing 50 w bulbs with leds which are the best/closest light wise?

You'll be hard pressed to get 50w halogen equiv in a GU10.
Most of these LED bulbs you see with clusters of emitters in them give out hardly any light, and it can be of a cool grey-white colour. If you wander round a B&Q lighting dept you'll see them on demo - accent lighting only.
I've bought numerous LED spot replacement bulbs and quite a few were dissapointing in either colour or intensity.
There are good ones. GU10 (for 240v) or MR16 (12v) spotlight bulbs in a Warm White colour using Cree Xlamp emitters - 3Watt or 5 Watt. I like the colour quality and brightness from Cree, they replace 20W Halogens perfectly.

    Over 203 days we used:
4138 units (electricity) - daily average of 20.38
1130 units (gas) - daily average of 5.57 which converts to 63.57 kWh (hope thats right but followed the instructions on the bill - units x calorific unit x volume correction /3.6)

Sorry if im being stupid here but the gas Kwh is that correct as I have imperial one and that works out at 175 Kwh with your figures not sure about metric though .

Mazio, imperial units are nearly three times larger than metric units.
