Icesave Isa Certificate

Hi folks,

Is anyone else still waiting for their ISA certificate from the FSCS. I had my compensation paid to me on the 16th of November but don't have my certificate yet !

Thanks

My wife and myself had ours, quire quickly. However for some reason beyond me my wife's date of birth was incorrect. So she had a letter from the B.S. into which she was transferring it to sign as to what her actual birth date was. still waiting for the account to be opened, meanwhile the money is in limbo earning no interest.

Thanks Broadback. I have taken my case up with the FSCS and this is their latest e-mail. Makes amusing reading :

    Dear Mr

Thank you for your email dated 8 January 2009 and for confirming your address details.

We are sorry you have not yet received your ISA certificate and apologise for any concern or inconvenience this may have caused.

We are aware that some Icesave customers have not yet received their ISA certificates and we are doing all we can to rectify this situation. However, as ISA certificates are official documents it is not possible for us to simply print out copies.

Therefore as you have yet to receive your certificate please put this in writing to us (postal mail rather than e-mail), stating when you received payment and advising us that as yet you have still not received your certificate. We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause you. However for security reasons we do require an original signature before we can look into cases where an official document such as an ISA certificate has not been received.

If you are still unsure about any matter, please call our helpline on: 0207 892 7300. We will try to respond to your query as soon as possible.

    Yours sincerely

So it seems my wait goes on while I have to put up with earning taxed interest rather than it sitting in an ISA where it belongs. The FSCS are great at paying out money but useless at admin it seems. When I told them they were penalising me by not allowing re-investment back in an ISA they overlooked that and said that the FSCS does not compensate for loss of "investment opportunity". Charming.
