Wilko were putting their seed potatoes and onion sets out today. 5 seed potatoes for £1. The Nicola ones we had last year were very successful so I got some more today.
Can anyone please tell me the best way to store them till the end of March (planting time?)

I start chitting my potatoes straight away for planting, I don't bother to store them!
They usually stock earlies, Jaffacat, but haven't actually seem what they've got this year yet.0 -

I'm sorry I didn't notice. They were literally still building the shelves!!
There wasn't much stock on them at all, I did notice they had the same amount of Rooster potatoes for a quid.
Just the right amount for me, I got about a stone of lovely spuds last year from 6 Nicola seed potatoes.:wave:0 -
Thanks for all the responses, unfortunatly the B&Q offer is no good for me, too many - im planting in buckets so will go to Wilko this weekend. Did ring them last Fri and they said give it another week they didnt have them in, so hoping they do otherwise I will get the Homebase pack (as I have a 15% voucher this weekend)so get 15 tubers and bags for £4 not as good as Wilko but not bad.
What compost do you buy, and what else do you add to it?
thanks Lisa0 -
Last year after putting in some crocks, I put a little of my own homemade compost in the bottom of the pot (normal plastic garden planters, nothing fancy) then topped up with some general purpose compost from Wilko.
I kept mine in full sun the whole time and I got loaaaaads - my friend had the other half of the bag of seed potatoes and had no luck at all. Her's were tucked away in the shade. (they were in bags of 10-12 last year):wave:0
