Speak to an IFA and let them know every element of your history who should do the research for you.
If someone on here says (eg) "I would go for Friends Provident" then it is meaningless as different companies provide different levels of cover.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. Insurance companies dont withdraw cover from plans already in force unless there are issues of non-disclosure.
All insurance companies consider everyone's medical history when looking at life assurance. Without knowing what the medical position is and the reason for the withdrawal by NU, its hard to say anything as Wutang comments above. Different insurers will treat certain medical issues differently.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only. the policy has been cancelled due to stress/depression not being disclosed as the incident was several years before I took the policy and the was it was sold to me I didnt regard it as being an issue, I now now how important it is to advise of everything regardless of how its sold/translated to you.0

It depends on if you now still suffer? If so, how serious is it/was it? How long did it last, reasons why? What drugs did you take? Were you suicidal?
Once they have this info they can evaluate you and accept sometimes at ordinary terms or add medical rating or decline.
Insurers can void any policy due to non-disclosure even if its a pimple on your nose! Better to disclose everything.0 -
I used to sell this type of insurance and we were trained to say this about disclosure
M - medical
A - advice
T - treatment
S - symptoms
within the last 5 years must be declared or it can void your insurance. I also stated that they did not have to disclose it to me (and to be honest I would not want them too) but with all insurers they have a medical advice team on the telephone help lines that you can ring and fully disclose to.
I am afraid to say that it really pays to declare everything so there are no shocks when you need your policy more than ever.
I hope this helps someone.Thank you to everyone who has helped me MoneySave0 -
It was only mild and was an isolated case I have now got my original insurers to reconsider and they are meeting to re-evaulate it again and have advised it may have an extra loading if accepted but I still want to check with other insurers for acceptance and cost so if anyone know which insurers accept with reasonable cost please let me knowIt depends on if you now still suffer? Event driven depression (e.g. following a death for example) is often looked on by insurers as something they will issue cover on but increase the premium to cover the increased risk. Clinical depression (long term) is harder to place and more likely to result in significant restrictions and higher prices or more likely a complete refusal.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA).
