The account will pay 6.25% for 12 months or, if sooner, until you break the conditions (e.g. go below £2,500 or have a second withdrawal).

You can deposit in branch or via automated systems such as bacs, chaps, faster payments, or online from your other accounts.

To keep the 12% on the Regular Saver, you need to maintain £5,000 in the Guaranteed Saver Reward account, and keep it there even if you've broken the withdrawal conditions.

    Hi

A bit confused as I ditched the t&cs of the account... For the Halifax Garanteed Saver Reward account opened in July, there is no need to fund a qualifying account with £1000 a month, is there?

    Thanks

No, you don't need any other accounts at all.

See full T&Cs here: http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/shopping/section75-protect-your-purchases#deposit (page 17 has the extra conditions applying to the various GSRs).

I contacted Halifx today to enquire the rate of the regular saver, as nothing shows online. She confirmed the 12% rate. I then enquired about putting more into the nominated account, as this is paying 6.25%. TBH, I had completely forgotten about this account. She informed me I could put in as much as I wanted, but if I made more than one withdrawal before July, the rate would drop.

Now that I have received my bonus clubcard points for the TPF internet saver, I can close this account.

The RS you mention ..... is 10%.

It only becomes 12% if, on maturity, you've maintained £5k in one of the nominated accounts for the duration of the RS.
If you want to test the depth of the water .........don't use both feet !

Thank you, but I did know that and that is why I mentioned 12%. In fact, it was thanks to this site and whoever posted originally that the whole family each opened up these Regular Savings Accounts and deposited £5,000 in the nominated account.

But not everyone does. So posting that Halifax have confirmed the RS at 12% ..... can, and does, confuse others. ;)

    You've corrupted your links!! :p

It is indeed on Page 17 ..... but this one gets you directly there, without having to change at both London and Glasgow!
