Temp Car Insurance Minimum Value

Hello,
Can someone please help me. I need to arrange 7 days temporary insurance on my current car, becuase this is how long i will have to wait in between my old policy running out on my current car, and when my new car will be delivered.
However, the only policies that I can find all state that the car must be insursed for a minimum of £1,500. ( I usally insure it for £1,000.)
Can anyone tell me if it would be ok to insure the car for more then usual? I wouldnt expexct to get anything extra back, if in the unfortunate event that I had to make a cliam.
Thanks

Is it an agreed value policy that you are after? It seems odd that you would be getting told that you had to have a minimum value otherwise, or am I missing something? All matter is merely energy condensed to a slow vibration, we are all one consciousness experiencing itself subjectively, there is no such thing as death, life is only a dream, and we are the imagination of ourselves.0

It just says this before you quote,
Eligibility
Vehicle Criteria- The vehicle to be covered
- has not been modified
- has no more than 8 seats in total
- is registered in Great Britain, Northern Ireland or the Isle of Man
- You don't plan to use the vehicle for carrying passengers or goods for hire or reward.
- You require cover for a vehicle which you would be permitted to drive using a standard full UK licence.
- The minimum market value of the vehicle to be insured is £1,500.
- The maximum amount payable under this policy in respect of loss or damage to the vehicle is £40,000.

OK I understand now.
If it was me, I would find the best price for my new car and then take out a policy with the same company on my old car. Then I could just do a change of vehicle when my new car arrives without having the hassle of taking out a short term policy and then a new policy for the new car. I'm assuming that your new car will be the more expensive of the two for this to work. Obviously if your current car is a porsche and your new one a fiat panda then forget everything that i've just said!

I agree with what rudekid says. No point at all having a separate policy for the one week.0

yerh but the company i want so insure with, wont insure my current car. (I am still classed as an inexperienced driver with them and therfore they wont insure my old car which has alloys)
However they offer the best quote by miles for my new car.Debt free since July 2013! Woo hoo! The bank actually laughed when I said I have come in to cancel my overdraft.0
