hi all, we a relooking for a conservatory, approx 4*4metres.
have been quoted 8.5k with a plastic roof.
we had thought of keeping cost down by doing the ground works ourselves.
what do you look for when buying a conservatory?
can anyone recomend a company in derbyshire?

I came across a website that suggested that the price ofconservatories could generally fall into one of 3 bands:
a) £250 per sq mt for a cheap/standard off the self conservatory
b) £500 per sq mt for medium quality, fitted
c) £750 per sq mt for a high quality conservatory, fitted.
All of the above does not include the finishing (plastering, electrics, floor etc)
You quote falls in category (b)
If prices start to creep close to £1,000 per sq mt, you might as well consider a proper ground floor extension, which is what I did when I had 4+ trades people all quote £1,200+ per sq mt for a conservatory I wanted.0
