Sharing my bad experience with BA customer services

Not much use in this case cos its all already happened - but I would ALWAYS hold out for a csah settlement where poor service / problems is concerned.
In the past I've had problems and very legitimate complaints with BA on more than one occasion. On the first 2 occasions they tried to fob me off with vouchers with restrictive conditions but I stuck my heels in - given that I was so P***** off with them I couldn't see myself EVER giving them the chance to mess me about again, vouchers would have been useless. Anyway, I think that if you have a problem with a particular trip then compensation or an ex gratia refund should be made of your expenses etx for that trip not some future trip that you may not want to chance with them. Both times they paid up in the form of hard cash. The only reason I sued them a third time was because one of there senior managers phoned me a pleaded for another chance. Foolishly, I let him sort out another trip for me to South Africa - I won't bore you with the full details but, having arranged the trip 9 months in advance, they discovered just 8 days before my departure that they had completely forgotton to reserve the actual flights! They didn't have any seats left and it cost them quite a lot of money to rebook us with another airline (plus yet another cash settlement!). Enough is enough and I will NEVER get on one of their planes again.
I've had trouble with Qatar Airlines and also Titan Tours and, with a bit of persuasion, they have coughed up cash as opposed to vouchers. If you have a genuine complaint and they accept your complaint then you need to insist on cash - once you accept vouchers you'll have a job getting them to change them. (and I'm not a serial complainer, just a customer who expects the service I've paid for).ELITE 5:2

I used to be a gold member of the BA Executive club. However they still managed to p??s me off so many times and made so many mistakes with bookings etc that I vowed never to travel with them again.
They may be the national carrier but they are worse than useless.0
