PC security...urgent help needed...making it look broke?

Hi there,
I have a flatmate who moved in & as courtest agreed she could borrow my pc for course work if needed however if internet use increased i would ask for money.
I set up her own guest a/c with password and now rather than using word and the odd bit of internet (she said she was buying her own laptop) it's come to the point where i get in from work and she's on it constantly and i have to ask her to come off it!!
I cant be arsed with the confrontation. Is there anyway i can disconnect her a/c from the internet or get a programme that makes it look liek it's broke so she can't use it and it'll prompt her to go buy one??!
Anyhelp appareciated.
Love

some wireless routers allow you to schedule times when the internet is allowed , you could block internet explorer and Messenger etc in your firewall and just allow it when you want to use itEx forum ambassador

my mate has parental control on his seyup.. to stop mum and dad watching his, ahem, 'special collection'..! :rofl:Long time away from MSE, been dealing real life stuff..
Sometimes seen lurking on the compers forum :-)0 -
In Internet Explorer go to Tools... Options... Connections... LAN settings.
In the Proxy Server section put a tick in the first box and in address put 192.168.44.33 and port 80.
Do this when you leave the PC and it should break internet access. When you come back remove the tick from the box and it will start working again.
Another option is to run a small file every time your flat mate logs on. It could run automatically and set the IP address to something invalid which means it wouldn't connect to your network successfully and therefore wouldn't see the internet. A similar file could run automatically when you login setting the network settings back to what is required for it to work
Is a lot easier than it sounds... I can talk you through if you like. 0 -
As system administrator the OP would have access to do this anyway without the password. With the password would simply mean the file could be hidden better since it could be put directly into the registry rather than the startup folder.0

Walk to the wall socket, turn off the plug and unplug the leads. Tell her to go buy her own. Keep the lead in your room and put it back in when you want to use it.
Some people are so ignorant that they need the blunt hammer approach.Conor

Remove the power lead and take it with you when you go outIt's taken me years of experience to get this cynical0

Install turecrypt will encrypt the harddrive but as it boots you just get a blank back screen until you type a password in. http://www.truecrypt.org/ You have to set the password screen to hidden somewhere it says in the help. It takes some time to encrpt the harddrive and will make the laptop run slightly slower.0

You could just talk to her instead and ask how the laptop plans are going
