  • Have you tried any aerial/satellite/cable businesses in your local
area to see if they are doing any deals on SKY+ boxes ?

I have to admit SKY only seem to deals when you become a new
    subscriber

I have SKY +, so I dont know about PVR boxes.

  • sky+ box on ebay for around £60. quad LNB about a tenner, bit of coax and 2 f connectors under a fiver. all in £75 or so, and you can sell your old box on for around £30-40, so around £40 to DIY ..if you're luck and but a box with a card..the card is worth another £20+. (I already had the lnb + coax...cost me £4!)

Have you been put through to the cancellations dept at Sky?
I got put through yesterday and was offered sky+ box and installation for £79 (or £49 if I took movies package) Also free line rental for 12 months (need an active BT line for this).

I'm on my 2nd Panasonic HD recorder (first one lasted 4 years) and they are brilliant and relatively cheap now. No good for you though as the programmer is based on the Freeview tuner built in, with other Sky channels being fed in on AV2.

Did you go through to the cancellation department? ... it is no use just threatening to cancel, you need to actually speak to cancellations and tell them you wish to cancel.

You have to say you are cancelling, just say you have been offered a deal from Virgin (check virgin website for details of their offers) where you will get a free V+ box.
I am on the £22pm package and was offered the above if that helps.

Does that work if the OP lives in an area which has neither cable nor an unbundled telephone exchange - and Sky knows it from the postcode?

How does Sky react if you tell Customer Retentions that you're not into sport and you've decided to switch to FreeSat HD and rented Blu-Ray movies instead?

Don't laugh at banana republics. :rotfl:

As a result of how you voted in the last three General Elections,
you'd now be better off living in one.

  • Hi,

I already have Sky (not +). If i get a seperate PVR box can i link that to sky so that i can pause/record their shows eg the football or does that only work with a sky+ box?
