BT Vision Box £9.97

If not connected to a BT Broadband line then you will not be able to record anything or watch any on demand.
If you have BT Broadband, then this is a good PVR with the added bonus of being able to pay for on-demand films/shows as you go.
I repeat that there is no compulsory subscription charges.0 -
depends what you use. you can pay monthly subscription for the 'on-demand' bit which requires bt broadband, or you can pay as you go for each programme.
I think the digital box bit prob doesn't need bt broadband and there is no monthly subscription as its basically a digital freeveiw box where you can pause, rewind and record live tv.
I think...
The box is useless without a BT Broadband account. However, if you have BT B then I would say it is the best PVR out there, has been so much more reliable than Sky+ was. You definatly don't need a subscription for the PVR functions, only for the various viewing packs or you can pay as you go.0 -
I got mine when they were offering £70 cash back through Quidco.0

if someone gets BT broadband and pays £17.99 a month for it should they not get this with it?0

"Sorry, this product has been discontinued."0

BT called me today offering me a free BT Vision box. when i asked if it would result in me paying more than i did already the guy said maybe. When i told him i was just managing to pay my bills as it was he replied "oh ok then, never mind thanks for your time".
So, by him cutting the call short i imagine whatever it is for it isnt free.Last bet : 26th Oct 2006:j Debt free 25th Feb 2008:j Living "my" dream:T0 -

yeah! what s/he said. and ull get access to ur standard freeview channels (provided you have a tv aerial) and if you have channel 5 on your terrestrial then you can subscribe for setanta sports 1 with bt vision aswell.
you will only need bt broadband if you want the on demand content. like films/music/kids/ general tv programs.
but too late offer discontinued.0 -
Unless you rip the 160GB hard drive out of it. That's worth more than a tenner on it own :TBeancounter wrote: »The box is useless without a BT Broadband account.0 -

I can't imagine why it would have cost you more per month. Sometimes the deals they offer *may* have a 1 month sub attached to it (that was what I was committed to when I joined) but that would be as little as £3. As has been said before......there is definately no ongoing committment.0
