British gas do a star rating cover which includes a anual service at the top end of the cover as to being reasonably priced depends on your system and number of radiators etc. If it was me then as long as your boiler is fairly new and not a combie type then put the monthly subscriptions in a high intrest accout and pay for the service out of the pot there should be enough left over every year to cover any future problems and if its trouble free you gain and can keep the surplus over the years to upgrade when needed.hth0

There are lots of threads on this subject, just look through the various threads.
No cover is cheap; depends what you think is reasonable.
Saving your premiums and pay for repairs on an Ad Hoc basis is avocated by quite a few people. However you should have any gas appliance checked for safety purposes and some argue a service is required to check boiler is working efficiently.
I would agree that is the best bet if you can find a good, honest, qualified and reliable plumber; a very rare beast for most of us. So I have BG cover0
