The Mortgage Free in Three - Take 2 challenge (MFiT-T2)

I also find it hard having a spread sheet and it all being so predictable, I remember thinking once I'm at 60 something its tiny, then 50, now I keep dazing down at the later months of the year and feel like I won't be happy now til there's a 4 at the front!! We have gone for the extreme method, but in the later months things have slipped a bit as we've started putting things on interest free credit cards, we are both tempted now for an 'end of the year holiday', I think ultimately we might have to 'skip a month' of overpayments to batter the credit cards however we have generally been ahead so we can probably do this without getting behind its just so hard going a month without an overpayment when you're so addicted!!
It's all gone quite slow for us but will be great to be past the half way mark.
Good to hear everyones perspectives midwayMortgage November 2003 was £135k, but thanks to this website on 28/08/12 we became MORTGAGE FREE!
Now just over 2 years we have taken on the challenge again! )(starting £237k Nov 2014) Current mortgage £232,399.82, current overpayment total £1550, years remaining= 170 -

Erm
Today I sent off a lump some overpayment of £1000 to the Britannia. No Michelle don't worry. This is not my rainy day money. I renewed my tax credit claim last week and when I logged on to online banking today. A lump some payment of £618 had been deposited in my account. As it is unexpected money I have used it as an overpayment and rounded it up to £1K. I have yet to receive the paperwork to check but did earn £1k less last year than the year before due to illness.
I haven't wasted the money.
My new balance is £1230
Hope you are all having a good dayMortgage Free as of 31/5/11 :j:j:j:j:j:j:j0 -

I am at no.8 on taxi's list too. I have decided to take a step back and not keep looking at the figures and anticipating every payment as it was not helping. I think you can get lost in the small details and fail to appreciate the bigger picture. Taking a step back and looking at your progress over a longer period of time is a good thing to do every so often.
I think that if people have not managed a single update during the challenge so far they should be removed from the list. Everybody knows this challenge involves 3 monthly updates, not to manage one over 18 months is not really participating in my book.0 -
We'll be making our June payment tomorrow and should hopefully get a new statement through within 2 weeks of payment. I managed to scrape together £3000 this time, so very pleased with this year so far. I need another £4600 this year to overpay the £12,900 I am allowed to pay this year. That should definitely be do-able. :jMortgage Free in 3-T2 : Started at £151,000 Nov. 2009 Mortgage Free Oct 1st 2015
