Best 3 in 1 Vacuum Cleaner????

Hi All,

Having had yet another cheap vacuum cleaner die on me I've decided its time to splash out on something decent.

We are moving into a new place soon which has new cream carpet(!) and with 3 small kids and a big garden it sounds like a recipe for disaster.

I am interested in buying a 3 in 1 vacuum cleaner, the sort the vacuum dry and wet spills and can also shampoo the carpet.

Do any of you own one like this? If so it is worth the expense? Any recommendations??

I have an old orange vax which I've used for about 20years as a carpet shampooer and as a regular cleaner when between vacuums. It has washed and vacced its way through two major house renovations and has been loaned out to clean numerous friends and families carpets too. I don't know if they are still made to the same quality but the one I have is a real work horse.

There's an older thread here that may help: a hoover that washes?? I have a friend who has a George GVE370 and she loves it. Some reviews on that model here.
