Nokia 6300 problems - anyone help?

I've got a Nokia 6300 on T-Mobile which is about 18 months old.
About a month ago it crashed when I was taking a photo, later that evening I switched it off and took out the memory card briefly (co-incidental, I was looking to see what I had in there) but then when I switched it back on it went a bit odd. at first I couldn't get it back up with the memory card so it reset my display settings back to the default (my wallpaper is on the memory card) - I also lost the 'Web and Walk' application from the menu and the the calculator seems to have gone totally. It also seemed to start working a lot quicker. I think it might have gone back to an older version, maybe the factory settings?
I backed up all my contacts etc onto my computer the next time I was home and everything else seemed normal. However last week I tried to copy some pictures from my phone to my computer and it crashes my PC! Every time I connect in 'data storage mode' (i.e. like any other removable drive) it instantly resets the PC. If I try it through 'Nokia mode' it hangs the software  I've managed to connect it to another PC in data storage mode successfully
Anyone know what could be happening?
I suspect it's a memory problem as it does tend to play up if the internal memory gets too full (which is easy as it's not very big)
